  • What comes equipped with the RV?

    All of our RV’s come fully equipped with all typical household items:

    • Washroom
    • Shower
    • Stove
    • Microwave (in all units with the exception of 19’ Solis)
    • Fridge

    • A Full Tank of Propane
  • Can we come in to view the RV's?

  • What is the fuel economy like?
    • Vans and diesel model average: 19-20 MPG
    • C24-A32 average is: 9-10 MPG
  • What is the fuel tank size?
    • 19’ Conversion vans and B22 Sprinters: 90L’s
    • C22-24 – C30 Class units: Average tank is 208L’s
    • A32 Class units: 190L tank
  • How much does a rental unit cost?

    Rental cost start at $100/day for regular/Premium Fleet Motorhomes.

  • What is the cost of kilometers?

    We have two different packages for RV Rentals.

    Our packages rate rentals come with 100km free per day with additional mileage at $0.40/km.

    Not planning to travel far? No problem, you can book our 0km rates.

  • What does the RV need to operate?

    The RV runs off a few power sources:

    1. Batteries
    2. Propane
    3. Hydro – 30amp or 50amp service (depending on the size of the RV). You can also run the lights off of a standard 15amp household plug (we will provide you with the adapter)
    4. Generator (If equipped)

    If you have a RV with a generator it will provide power to entire RV which results in you not needing to plug it into an electrical outlet.

  • When is your rental season?

    March to October

  • What deposits are required?

    A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is required at the time of booking. This deposit will be applied toward your rental charges. The balance of your rental is due at least 30 days prior to the pick up date.On the day of the pick up we require a cleaning deposit of $150.00 and a $500.00 pre-authorized security deposit. If your reservation does not include our CDR/VIP Insurance, the security deposit will be $7500. Deposit can be made with a Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card. Cheques, prepaid credit cards and ATM cards are NOT accepted for deposits. Deposits are refundable upon vehicle check-in if it has been returned: on time, un-damaged, clean, equipment complete, holding tanks empty and fuel tank full. Deposits will be refunded in the same way they were given.

  • Is there a charge for the generator?

    Yes if you require a generator please inform us at the time of the booking, a $50 surcharge will apply.

    Please note NOT all vehicles are equipped with a generator

  • Do I need a special driver's license to drive a Motor Home?

    The renter and nominated drivers must hold and produce driver’s licenses valid for the period covered by the rental. Visitors to Canada may use valid licenses from the country of their residence or a current International Driver’s License. Those under 25 years of age or over 75 years of age may not drive without special permission from the rental station

  • When can I pick up the RV?

    Motor home pick ups are done between 10:00am-2:00pm, Monday through Saturday (Sunday closed). Trailer pickups are done between 1:30pm-3:30pm Monday through Friday and 1:30pm – 2:30pm Saturday.

  • What kind of RV's do you rent?

    We rent everything from a small 17′ trailer to a large 30′ A Class Motorhome. Our web site lists all of the types and sizes of vehicles we rent. All of our rental vehicles are listed under the category: RV Rental Fleet.

  • Is it difficult to drive a RV?

    No, RV’s handle much like a car. Just remember to be cautious of your surroundings and keep your turns wide.

  • Are RV's difficult to hook up?

    No, prior to pickup you will receive a complete video orientation of the RV. The video will provide instruction on operations and trouble shooting and is available for you to reference back to at any point during your travel.

  • Do all RV’s come equipped with pots and pans?

    No, but we rent 2 types of packages for bedding and cookware.

    1. Convenience Kits – The $100 per person/per trip (max charge = 4 kits / $400 covers the following:

    Dishes Only – For a flat fee of $90. We rent out all of the above with the exception of linen/pillows/duvet/towels. This is a great value for customers who want to bring their own sleeping bags.

  • Are there levellers provided?

    Levelling blocks are included in the vehicle.

  • Besides the rental cost are there any other charges I will incur?

    There is tax on rental charges and any kits you order. You will also be asked to pay fuel and cleaning/dumping deposits at the time of pick-up.

  • Does the RV come with a TV or Stereo?

    While there are no TV’s, there is an AM/FM radio in the dash. Most of our units have blue tooth connectivity and outside speakers.

  • Are there awnings on the RV?

    Most of our RV’s come with awnings, however they are the are also the most commonly damaged item. Therefore we do not guarantee RV’s to come with functioning awnings.

  • Are pets allowed in the RV?

    No, Animals are NOT permitted in our vehicles. There will be a minimum fine of $250 if you carry a pet in your rented vehicle.

  • Is there a limit to how many people can ride in the RV?

    Yes. You may only have as many passengers as there are seat belts in the vehicle. Please refer to our rental fleet for the number of seat belts in each vehicle.

    • Never exceed the maximum capacity as posted in the actual vehicle you will be using. Maximum capacity includes the vehicle, all fluids, all occupants and their gear.
    • All passengers should use the provided seat belts. The total number of seat belts will vary according the vehicle and according to the floor plan of the actual vehicle you are using.
    • Child safety seats should be used where applicable. The installation and use of these seats should follow the recommendation of the child seat manufacturer.
    • Overhead areas designed only for sleeping should not be occupied while the vehicle is in motion.
    • The vehicle should be properly secured prior to travel. This includes locking the doors and dead-bolting them where applicable. Stow the entry step and secure the outside compartments.
    • We ask that you use good judgment and prudence in your decisions

  • Are there facilities close to the Rental Centre where we can purchase supplies, propane and dispose of holding tank contents?

    The staff at the rental centre will be glad to direct you to the closest shopping centre, fuelling facilities and waste treatment centre.

  • Can I park my car at your Rental Centre while we travel?

    We allow for 1 vehicle to be parked here during your travels, please make arrangements ahead of time to park your car with us.

  • Can we leave our luggage at the rental location?

    Yes.

  • Are we allowed to travel into the United States?

    Yes, travel in the USA is allowed.

  • Is there anywhere travel is not allowed?

    Parking in Montreal and Ottawa is not allowed (except for specified campgrounds).

    Motor homes are not permitted on Dempster Hwy, Inuvik, Northwest Territories, Mexico or Death Valley. Alaska and Yukon, Cassiar Hwy, Alaska Hwy only with Northern Surcharge (conditions apply). RV’s are not permitted on roads designated on the official provincial or state maps as “other roads gravel or dirt”.

  • Can we travel one way to our destination or do we have to travel round trip?

    You must travel round-trip; we do NOT take one-way reservations.

  • How do I pay for rental?

    We accept Debit, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Please note that security and cleaning deposits MUST be made with a credit card.

  • Can I tow my car or boat behind the Motor Home?

    No, we do not allow towing.

  • How much does it cost to stay in campgrounds?

    Campground rates vary based on time of year and what facilities they offer. Generally you can expect to pay between $10 and $50 per night. Please note that a daily entrance fee may be applicable depending on the park/campground.

  • What kind of facilities might a campground offer?

    Campgrounds may offer electric, water, sewer hook-ups, washrooms, showers, washer, dryer, swimming pool, playground, BBQ pits, on-site convenience store. Most provincial parks only offer electrical or non-electrical sites.

  • What if I return the vehicle before the date it is due?

    No refunds will be made for early returns or late pick ups.

  • What if I am late in returning the vehicle?

    Vehicles must be returned between 8am – 10am on the final day (Saturdays between 9-10). A rate of $50/hour will be charged for each hour overdue. Please contact our office if you will be late.

  • Do you have baby car seats and cribs available?

    No we do not have car seats available for rent but we do have bed rails available for rent. Please book bed rails in advance as numbers are limited.

    *You are responsible for the installation of the car seat. For car seat safety information, please visit Tips for Installing Child Car Seats . In Ontario, booster seats are required for all children under 8 years old, weighing a minimum 18 kg (40lbs).

  • Is it safe to drink the water from the RV tank?

    No, we do not recommend this. It is difficult to know if the water is potable when you fill the tank at a variety of locations. We recommend you use bottled water for drinking and cooking. The water from the tank is fine for washing and bathing.

  • What if I am involved in an accident?

    You must contact Owasco RV Rentals within 24 hours of an accident and make a full report in writing as well as file a police report. In that case, our personal car accident law firm will take care of it; however, you have to keep in mind that depending on the situation you may get additionally charged.

  • What if the RV breaks down?

    Owasco RV provides a 24 hour Roadside Assistance available for all regular and premium fleet only. All repairs in excess of $75 must have prior approval from our customer service department.

  • Are there bike racks?

    Yes there are bike racks available for rent at a charge of $6.00 per day with a maximum charge of $96.00. These must be reserved in advance as numbers are limited.

  • What if I have to cancel my reservation?

    Owasco will not refund any reservation cancelled, missed or otherwise as a result of war, act of terrorism or mother nature.

    No fee is charged when cancelled within 3 days of making the reservation provided it is not within 30 day prior to pick up date.

    Booking time to 30 days prior to pick up: $500

    30 – 16 days before pick up: 60% of rental charges

    15 – 1 day(s) prior to pick up: 75% of rental charges

    No show: 100% of the rental

    Owasco will not refund any reservation cancelled, missed or otherwise as a result of war, act of terrorism or mother nature.
